Expedition Voyages to Spitsbergen - June - August
2005
NCV offers Expedition Voyages to Spitsbergen, an 11-day cruise on board
the MS Polar Star or an 8-day on board the MS Nordstjernen. Passengers
cruise under the Midnight Sun exploring Spitsbergen's Arctic landscapes
and abundant wildlife: massive glaciers covering 60% of the land, fjords
lined with steep cliffs, rugged mountains, and polar bears, wild reindeer,
Arctic foxes, walruses, whales, seals and many species of migratory birds.
All Spitsbergen programs feature naturalist guides, Zodiac landings,
combine round-trip flights from New York to Oslo and Spitsbergen, accommodations
in select cabin category, accommodations in Oslo hotel with breakfast
daily, all shore excursions, transfers, air taxes and port charges. All
departures on board the MS Polar Star feature experienced expedition
leaders presenting lectures on the unique plant and animal life of the
Spitsbergen archipelago.
The Grand Expedition
This 11-day expedition voyage gives you an opportunity to explore the
last wilderness of Europe rich in unspoiled nature and wildlife. The
MS Polar Star ship is small enough to visit areas that larger ships cannot
enter, and the Zodiacs will enable you to make interesting shore excursions.
All departures feature experienced expedition leaders presenting lectures
on the unique plant and animal life of the Spitsbergen archipelago.
The Adventure Expedition
This 8-day expedition voyage features naturalist guides, and Zodiac
landings. The MS Nordstjernen sails close to shore for viewing rugged
mountains,
glaciers, icebergs, fjords and polar bears, wild reindeer, whales,
seals and migratory bird species.
