Colorado Skiing and Snowboarding
Copper is the perfect vacation destination for Colorado skiing and snowboarding.
Copper is easily accessible - we're located just 75 miles west of Denver
in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.
Why ski Colorado? Summit County, Colorado offers the longest ski season
in the Western U.S. This season, Copper is open from November 1, 2003
to April 18, 2004. And Colorado is renowned for its sunny, blue-sky days
along with some of the best powder in the world. Copper is Summit County's
largest ski area with over 2,400 skiable acres and averages 280"
of snowfall during our ski season.

Copper has something for all ages and abilities. Our naturally divided
terrain starts out with gentle, sloping runs on the west, and gets progressively
steeper as you head east. And we've got several wide-open bowls for advanced
skiers and riders. Copper also has one of the best terrain parks and pipes
in Colorado.
Copper Mountain vacations are filled with plenty of rip time on the mountain,
followed by a relaxing or rockin' night in The Village - the choice is
yours. We've got a new village featuring plenty of incredible lodging
options, shops,
restaurants,
bars
and family
activities. All of our lodging is just steps away from the mountain
and gives you access to the Copper Mountain Athletic Club, featuring a
25-yard pool, weight room, cardio equipment, hot tubs, saunas and steam
rooms. Click here for more lodging
info, or check out our hot

Never been skiing or snowboarding? Click
here for a list of beginner tips.
Parking - Free parking is available in the Alpine Lot
right off of I-70. Take exit 195 and follow signs for free parking. Get
here early and jump on one of the many shuttles that depart the Alpine
Lot for the various base areas. Beginners may want to head to Union Creek
on the Green shuttle. The Blue route will take you to the Village where
you can find everything you need and then some. If the Super Bee's advanced
intermediate/expert terrain is what you're looking for, then you can just
take the 6-minute walk or catch the Black shuttle to the East Village.
(If you would like to get closer, follow the signs into the village for
"Close-In Pay Parking" which will cost you $10-$15/day.)
FREE Mountain Tours - Tours depart 10:30am & 1:30pm
everyday from the yurt at the top of the American Eagle. What better way
to explore the mountain than to take advantage of one of our free mountain
tours guided by Copper's own Ambassadors? Tours are for intermediate and
advanced snowriders only.
Lunch Time! - Seems like everyone gets hungry at the
same time, usually between 11:00am - 1:30pm. Before or after these times
is the best time to go, and a little secret...Copper Station in the East
Village is always the least crowded.
More Rip Time, Less Lift Line - Everyone goes to the
Village to start their day; whether it's to grab some breakfast or to
meet friends. Avoid these crowds by starting your day in the East Village
or by heading up High Point in Union Creek. Once you're on the mountain,
get away! There's plenty of terrain at Copper and there's hardly any waiting
at lifts in the back bowls. If you really don't want to see anyone head
out to lifts like Sierra, Rendezvous, Black Jack, Mountain Chief or the
Alpine Chair.
Apres - After a great day of skiing or riding,
join us at the base for some of the many food and drink specials. The
best music on the mountain can be found at Jack's in the Village at Copper,
and at JJ's in the East Village. The legendary Moe Dixon plays all your
favorites at JJ's, Wednesday - Thursday, and the dynamic duo Lefty Lucy
mixes it up at Jack's, Thursday - Saturday, all February and March.
